The Gospel

The Gospel

The numeric patterns detailed on this site cannot save you from your sins. They simply point us to the God who can: the Author of the Bible. He is the true and living God who created all things, and is above all, longsuffering in mercy, eternal, invisible, immortal, and holy in all His being. He created you and He loves you. That was proven ~2000 years ago when the Word became flesh so that He would be crucified at the cross of Calvary, as a sacrifice for all, when he took all our sins and bare them in his own body, cursed, and hanging on the tree in our place. Many people think their good deeds will be good enough to outweigh their bad on the day of judgment. What a terrifying day that will be, as they enter the presence of the Most Holy, having trusted their own goodness and the work of their own hands instead of those blood-drenched hands that were nailed upon the cross. We have all sinned. We are all guilty. We have all come short. The good news is that Jesus, the Son of God, tasted death in our place. Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Cor 15:3-4 How do you escape damnation? Call upon the Lord in sincerity. Stop trusting your own hands, and take His. 🤝 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Visit truthischrist.com/grace for more information.

Summary

The word “fourteen” which is the first number written in the New Testament (Matthew 1:17), appears 7x in the New Testament.

In the New Testament
fourteen
= 5x
fourteenth
= 2x

Total (5 + 2) = 7 mentions of fourteen* in the New Testament

This pattern is highly significant because the word four* (which includes fourteen*) appears 77x in the New Testament.

In the Scriptures

Matthew wastes no time in drawing attention to a precise numeric structure in the genealogy of Jesus Christ. In verse 17 he clearly marks three sets of fourteen generations:

  1. From Abraham to David
  2. From David to the Babylonian captivity
  3. From the Babylonian captivity to Christ

Some argue that numbers in scripture carry no special meaning, yet the Holy Ghost chose to open the New Testament by repeating and emphasizing this number three times. This is not merely a historical record, it is a numeric pattern.

“So all the generations from Abraham to David are fourteen generations; and from David until the carrying away into Babylon are fourteen generations; and from the carrying away into Babylon unto Christ are fourteen generations.”

In Hebrew gematria, the name David (דָּוִד) equals 14 (Dalet = 4, Vav = 6, Dalet = 4). Surely Matthew knew this, and it explains why he was willing to omit certain kings (Ahaziah, Joash, Amaziah, Jehoiakim) to make the pattern fit. In doing so, he wasn’t ignoring history, he was declaring Christ’s identity as “Son of David” in the number of recorded generations (Interestingly, Jesus is called the “Son of David” 14 times in the New Testament. Note: In Pure Bible Search, it appears to be 16 but 2 of those instances are not referring to Christ).

From the seventh day of rest in Genesis to the twelves of the New Jerusalem in Revelation, God stamps his works with numbers. Here in Matthew 1, he begins the New Testament with the number 14 tied to the name of David, arranging the generations of his Son to match it.

Thus, at both the opening and closing of scripture, whether in Genesis 1-2, Matthew 1, or Revelation 21-22, we find the unsearchable wisdom of God revealed through patterns and numbers, all pointing to Jesus Christ.

Conclusion

The New Testament begins with a triple pattern of fourteen generations, deliberately organized to match the numeric value of David’s name. This same number, fourteen* appears exactly 7 times in the New Testament, God’s number of rest and perfection. Not only does this seal off the New Testament, it fulfills a greater pattern that started in the beginning: the first emphasized number of the Old Testament (seven) is mentioned 70×7 in the Old Testament, and the first mention of the New Tesatment (fourteen) is mentioned 7x in the New Testament.

Thank you for visiting KJV Code in its early launch. If you see a pattern that lacks completeness, that’s because it is still a work in progress. The search result itself should be accurate, but we have yet to add exhaustive summaries and other details to each pattern.
