The Gospel

The numeric patterns detailed on this site cannot save you from your sins. They simply point us to the God who can: the Author of the Bible. He is the true and living God who created all things, and is above all, longsuffering in mercy, eternal, invisible, immortal, and holy in all His being. He created you and He loves you. That was proven ~2000 years ago when the Word became flesh so that He would be crucified at the cross of Calvary, as a sacrifice for all, when he took all our sins and bare them in his own body, cursed, and hanging on the tree in our place. Many people think their good deeds will be good enough to outweigh their bad on the day of judgment. What a terrifying day that will be, as they enter the presence of the Most Holy, having trusted their own goodness and the work of their own hands instead of those blood-drenched hands that were nailed upon the cross. We have all sinned. We are all guilty. We have all come short. The good news is that Jesus, the Son of God, tasted death in our place. Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures: 1 Cor 15:3-4 How do you escape damnation? Call upon the Lord in sincerity. Stop trusting your own hands, and take His. 🤝 Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved. Visit truthischrist.com/grace for more information.

Jesus + Elijah 77×7 + 77×7 in the Bible

And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.

Matthew 17:11-12

Summary

In the Entire Bible, there are a total of 1078 (Pure) mentions of Jesus & Elijah, which is 77×7 + 77×7.

Jesus is mentioned 980x, or 70×7 + 70×7.
Elijah is mentioned 98x, or 7×7 + 7×7.

In the Entire Bible
Jesus(‘) = 980x (Pure)
Elijah(‘s) = 68x (Pure)
Elias(‘) = 30x (Pure)
Total: (980 + 68 + 30) = 1078x, or 77×7 + 77×7 mentions of Jesus + Elijah

Pure = the true count for a particular person, place, or thing. If antimentions exist (same name, different entity), they are removed from the count

Antimentions of Jesus: Acts 7:45 & Hebrews 4:8 (Joshua son of Nun), Colossians 4:11 (Justus)
Antimentions of Elijah: Ezra 10:21 (A man who took a strange wife)

Note: there are no possessive mentions of Elijah’s or Elias’ in the Bible.

Elijah is the prophet that God promised to send before the end times, as seen in the last verses of the Old Testament:

“Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the LORD: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse.” Malachi 4:5-6

And after the transfiguration, Jesus says something quite profound: Elijah was already sent:

“And Jesus answered and said unto them, Elias truly shall first come, and restore all things. But I say unto you, That Elias is come already, and they knew him not, but have done unto him whatsoever they listed. Likewise shall also the Son of man suffer of them.” Matthew 17:11-12

This statement by Jesus reveals that Elijah had already come in the person of John the Baptist, fulfilling the prophecy in a spiritual sense. John the Baptist came in the spirit and power of Elijah (Luke 1:17), preparing the way for the Lord. However, the people did not recognize him as Elijah and ended up rejecting his message, just as they would reject and crucify Jesus.

The connection between Jesus and Elijah is deeply significant. Both brought the dead to life, called people to repentance, confronted religious hypocrisy, and ascended into heaven.

The numerical pattern found in their mentions (1078x, or 77×7 + 77×7) is remarkable without much of an explanation; God uses the number 7 over and over again to represent perfection, oath, and rest in the scriptures. The repetition of 77×7 points to divine perfection–perfection to the uttermost.

Any honest passerby must admit if they’re being honest- this is a hard thing to pass as coincidence. It beautifully signals the Spirit’s hand over scriptures and points to the ultimate fulfillment of God’s purpose in Christ. Jesus came to complete the work of redemption, while Elijah—both in John the Baptist and in the future prophetic fulfillment—bears record that “this is the Son of God” (John 1:34).

The numerical evidence aligns with both prophecy and doctrine, declaring once again that everything in this Bible revolves around our Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
